He speaks very well.. and I’m sure that really bothers alot of people
I watched this many years ago and though I was never a huge fan of his music, I became a fan of him. He speaks eloquently and reasonably. I learned a lot of how to speak to people through this. It does bother people, but even Bill O'Reilly understands how stupid he would look to fly off the handle in response to this behavior. Great observation/perception!
TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH. Ali was a great boxer and a charismatic figure. But his racial views were toxic. He believed in segregation and opposed miscegenation at a time when mixed race couples faced real discrimination. He was an outspoken member of the racist Nation of Islam. Excuses are made for Ali's racism - 'it was the context of the time, he was a black man in America etc' - but why did other prominent black fighters not also spout out the same divisive race-baiting? But try telling these truths and you get shouted down by those who would prefer blind idolatry to objective and empirical truths. Parkinson was a great interviewer and I am pleased he put Ali on the spot with some of this stuff.
Both proper tripping out of their heads on here and can't speak properly lol🤯😇
I had a crush on him as a kid 😭
1:17 His friend was Anton LaVey.
Idk why they’re treating Tom as if they’re so much better than him…its simply not true. Ughh. How horrible!
I owe my life to Muhammad Ali since 1974 when I first heard him speak on the BBC Michael Parkinson show , and now I fight Parkinson’s disease in his honour.
I called Ali a big sissy once!!, and, then I knocked him out cold!!!, Then when I challenged him to a rematch!!!!???, he was absolutely terrified folks!!!, THEN!!!, I WOKE UP!!!😂😂😂😂
He hit a nerve with Ali, as great as he was, Parkinson' should not have been looking for a headline and upset Ali, which he did because Ali was extremely easy going
"We don't want you to become a shambling wreck" We really didn't. What a horror show. RIP Ali and RIP Parkinson.
looks like billy shears!
Peter cook really was a genius
Time passes fast. RIP to the greatest and sir Parkinson.
He fought again after struggling to touch his nose? Bloody hell...
They both died from Parkinson's disease.
Yeah infact I do have photos of him Mohammed Ali,
Only sportsmen to outgrow his sport. Truly a great, watched this over 10 times and I can keep watching this. Muhammad Ali’s life story is truly a remarkable story. Legends never die
Such an influential TV figure, who interviewed all the great movie era stars, and inspired so many journalists. You are missed already, Sir Michael.
"A bloated caricature" .. cruel very cruel
I Loved watching how superior Ali was to the entire human race ..during these interviews with Parkinson
RIP Sir Michael Parkinson (March 28, 1935 - August 16, 2023), aged 88 And RIP Muhammad Ali (January 17, 1942 - June 3, 2016), aged 74 You both will be remembered as legends.
A gift to the world
Rip Parkinson ❤
They both up there now having a laugh. Rip Paul❤️
RIP MICHAEL PARKINSON 😢
R.I.P. Sir Michael Parkinson .. the best interviewer ever on TV
RIP Parkinson. Their next interview will be in the afterlife.
Rip to both these legends
Just heard of Michael’s passing too. RIP. Two great men.
Yeah...that brought me back herr😢❤. Both wonderful men.
@@houseofcharm4751 instantly thought of this
My family said I made it up when I remembered having a comic strip bible for Christmas one year!!! Finally! At 70 lol! I can show them I hadn’t lost my marbles lol! Thanks for sharing! 😋😂
Honestly, the Fox narrative at the time didn't do Bill O'Reilly's calm intelligence and humour justice. Dude deserves way more respect than people give him IMO
Every interview with a mancunian artist all have the same vibes. Chilled and dont give a fk
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.❤❤ I Pray this blesses you in Jesus name amen
Wow! I wanted to see this specific clip tonight, part of a Tom Waits look back I have been doing lately. I remember the "seamy" accusation, saw this when it was originally broadcast. I knew it was a daytime talk show, but couldn't recall the host's name. So, I looked up talk show hosts of the 70s and 80s. I saw Mike Douglas then did a YT search for an interview with him. Presto! Thanks for sharing this gem! Peace.
In the 1970s the university my late father taught at had an annual Faculty Follies where he played the deputy head in this sketch. I wish it had been recorded.
Still my favorite line: “The great train robbery in fact involved no loss of train; merely the contents of the train …” 😆
"we believe this to be the work of thieves."
Man this is the wrong place to get tired 😂
Everybody's loved him,I'm sure he was an Angel,it so sad to look at🙏🙏♥️
The fringe is the bridge between the Goons and Python. Of Course, Fringe's humor was obviously very class based. It was subversive towards the Brit class system. In that sense, Python was more like the Goons. They were sillier and less topical. Of course, I'm just an American and that is an outsider's take on this.
😊😊
God I never seen that music video nice effect
Funny because in Parkinsons later years he said he didn't like Ali there are 2 videos on you tube showing him say that where comments are disabled. One is on the good morning Britain channel. Parkinson was never a match for Ali, Ali battled "Parkinsons" disease for more than 3 decades it wasn't even the reason he left us!
Who's the interviewer?
Tavy@ imo i thought ali was the greatest boxer ever. When i saw the way he tired out big george foreman who had the hardest punsh in boxing and was 6ft4 tall and ali was 6ft2 tall i think. But to take it for all those rounds from big george who was a huge guy, then ali had him tired out foreman couldnt do much more then ali knocked him out and ali must have been hurting some where. I thought how can any man just take what the biggest and hardest boxer has got for all those rounds and still be standing as if he hadnt started then knocked big george out with a belter of a punsh to win the fight. Ali the greatest ever!!!!!!!
I've never seen a funnier person. Ever.
Is this what Marjorie Taylor Greene was referring to?
Michael parkinson is a snitch
Go get 'em Paul
There's no more great personalities like this man.
Man, this is the wrong place to get tired.
